Is it easy to avoid common Ficus Tuffi hedge problems ?

The short answer is yes. We have found that correct spacing, the right amount of watering and small regular trimming keeps your Ficus Tuffi very healthy.

What is the growth rate of a ficus tuffi instant hedge per year ?

We have stock in various heights. For example our 1.2m+ grade will be 1.8m – 2m tall within 11-12 months if you follow our care instructions properly.

What is the growth rate of ficus tuffi ?

In ideal conditions, in our experience in planting them we have found them to grow between 800mm-1.2m per year depending on soil and conditions.

Does Ficus Tuffi look good when planted around older homes ?

Yes it looks fantastic. Whilst Ficus Tuffi hedging is used most commonly on newer architectural type properties it also adds a fresh touch to older properties.

Is Ficus Tuffi affected by any bugs or pests ?

In our vast experience, especially in Auckland,, we have only ever seen it affected by white aphid. This is very easily fixed by spraying Neem Oil on the undersides of the leaves.

What is the lifespan of a Ficus Tuffi hedge ?

Whilst most hedge varieties only last 20-30 years Ficus will last at least 70 years.

Is Ficus Tuffi a high maintenance hedge ?

It will be for the first year to 18 months while it is establishing. We always advise our customers to trim vigorously during this period as you are shaping your future hedge.

Will the colour of this hedge stay uniform throughout it’s lifespan ?

Yes, we have never seen a Ficus Tuffi hedge become discoloured or shaded different colours. They stay very consistent.
